FS9 Douglas C-47 Skytrain Exterior Base Pack 1.0

Included in this package are two FS9 C-47 models that have been converted 
from FSX models. They have the same complexity as the FSX models but the 
textures are half-size only and there is some loss in resolution. There is 
an "early" model, which is fitted with H aerials, and a "late" model, which 
has beacon lights and curtains. The flight dynamics and VC are those of the 
default DC-3 to which custom wing views and replacement VC textures have 
been added. The liveries include a camouflaged RAF Dakota painted by 
"Squirrel" and a white/polished-metal USAF post-war aircraft. Custom 
animations by Hansjoerg Naegele, replacement VC textures by Marvin Carter, 
models by Manfred Jahn. The FSX paintkit released separately (c-
47paintkit.zip at Flightsim) can be used for repainting with only few tweaks 
required. 

INSTALLATION

(1)	Extract the zip to a temporary folder or open it in Windows 
Explorer. 

(2)	Copy the folder "Douglas C-47" to your "Flight Simulator 9\aircraft" 
folder.

In the aircraft selection menu the two variants will show up under "Douglas 
C-47 Skytrain".


NOTES 

(1)	Sound is aliased to the default DC-3.

(2)	With engines off and parking brake set, the port passenger door can be 
opened and closed by pressing Shift-E. The second door opens on 
pressing Shift-E-2 (that is, press Shift-E, release keys, then press 2 
briefly). 

(3)	The post-war model (C47_2) comes with two beacon lights which need to 
be activated in the [lights] section of the aircraft.cfg if they are 
to be used. For owners of A2A Shockwave lights, suggested settings 
have been included.

(4)	Cowl flaps open in intervals on pressing Shift-Ctrl-V and close on 
Shift-Ctrl-C (these are default keys). Generally speaking, open cowls 
when the engines need cooling and close them when not. This is for 
appearance' sake only, the settings have no effect on flight dynamics 
or engine temperature in the current setup.

(5)	Another reminder, landing lights swivel up/down on pressing Shift-
Ctrl-Num8/Num2 respectively (default keys).

(6)	Various pilot views ("wing views") can be displayed from either the 2D 
panel or the VC by pressing the Num keys (NumLock ON), also the Ctrl-
Shift-Num combinations.
